How to forward calls on Cox Voice (residential) to your AI receptionist

Keep your Cox Voice (residential) number. Your phone rings first — RingReady answers only the calls you miss. Set it up in a few minutes from your Cox Voice (residential) settings.

Cox Voice (residential) setup

After you sign up you get your own RingReady number; your dashboard shows these same steps with it filled in, as tap-to-dial buttons.

Landline setup: Lift the handset, wait for the dial tone, then dial each code from your Cox phone. These codes won't work from a cell phone.
1

Ask Cox about busy / no-answer forwarding

Cox Voice's own tools don't show a 'forward when busy' or 'forward when not answered' option.

Call Cox (now part of Spectrum) and ask whether Call Forwarding Busy and No Answer can be set to your RingReady number.
2

Check Voice Tools

Sign in at voicetools.cox.com (or the Cox Voice app) and open Settings, then Call Forwarding.

If you see Busy or No Answer options, choose them and enter your RingReady number. If you only see Forward All Calls, use the optional code below only if you want every call to go to RingReady.
3

Test it

From another phone, call your home number and let it ring.

4

Or forward every call with a dial code

From your Cox Voice (residential) phone, dial *72 followed by your RingReady number.

Your receptionist then answers all your calls, not just the missed ones. Dial *73 to turn it off.
