The right call summary, on the right person's phone.

Your AI receptionist texts a summary after every call. Smart SMS Routing decides whose phone it lands on — the on-call tech after hours, the owner for new-business calls, the front desk for everything else. Set the rules once; every call follows them.

How Smart SMS Routing decides who gets the text

Two kinds of rules, checked top to bottom after every call. First match wins; no match falls back to your default number. Nothing about the call itself changes — only who gets notified.

Route by schedule

Pick the days and hours a rule covers — weeknights to the on-call tech, weekends to the owner. Overnight windows (6 PM – 8 AM) work naturally, and every rule runs in your business timezone, not the server's.

Route by caller intent

Describe the intent in plain English — “caller wants a quote for a new project” — and the AI classifies each finished call against your descriptions. New-business calls can hit the owner's phone while routine calls go to the front desk.

Top-down, first match wins

Rules run in the order you set, up to 5 per receptionist. The first rule that matches decides the destination and the rest are skipped — so you put your most specific rule first and your broadest rule last.

Verified destinations only

Every number you route to is confirmed with a one-time 6-digit code before it can receive summaries. No typos texting your customers' call details to a stranger's phone.

Fail-safe by design

No rule matched? The summary goes to your default number, same as today. Deleted a destination? Rules that pointed at it fall back automatically. Routing can add precision, but it can never lose a notification.

On top of everything else

Routing changes the SMS destination only. Email summaries, the dashboard call log, and webhooks all keep working exactly as before — this feature adds a smarter text, it doesn't replace anything.

Common questions

What exactly gets routed?

The after-call summary text — the SMS your AI receptionist sends when a call ends, with the caller's name, number, and what they needed. Smart SMS Routing decides which verified phone number receives that text. The call itself, email summaries, your dashboard, and webhooks are unchanged.

How does routing by caller intent work?

You write a short plain-English description of the intent — “caller wants a quote for a new project”, “existing customer with a service issue” — and after each call the AI compares the call summary against your descriptions. If one matches, that rule's number gets the text. If none match, the summary goes to your default number.

What happens when no rule matches?

The summary goes to your default SMS number — exactly what happens today without routing. Rules only add precision on top; there is no configuration where a call summary silently disappears.

Do schedule rules handle overnight shifts?

Yes. A window like 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM crosses midnight naturally, and all rules evaluate in your business's timezone (set in your receptionist's business details), so “after hours” means your after hours.

Can I send summaries to someone outside the company?

Any US or Canadian mobile number can be a destination — but it must be verified first with a one-time code texted to that phone. That keeps call details from ever being routed to an unconfirmed number.
