How to forward calls on Google Voice (Google Workspace) to your AI receptionist

Keep your Google Voice (Google Workspace) number. Your phone rings first — RingReady answers only the calls you miss. Set it up in a few minutes from your Google Voice (Google Workspace) settings.

Google Voice (Google Workspace) setup

After you sign up you get your own RingReady number; your dashboard shows these same steps with it filled in, as tap-to-dial buttons.

1

Open the Google Admin console

Sign in as a Google Voice admin

Go to admin.google.com, then Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Google Voice. You need the Google Voice Admin role and a Voice Standard or Premier plan.
2

Create or open a ring group

Ring groups > Create

Click Ring groups, then Create (or open your existing one). Add the staff who should answer, choose Simultaneous, and give the ring group your business number.
3

Forward unanswered calls to your receptionist

Unanswered calls > Forward the caller > Phone number

Under the unanswered-calls option choose Forward the caller, set the forward type to Phone number and enter your full RingReady receptionist number. Calls go there after 30 seconds with no answer.
4

Cover after hours (optional)

Use an auto attendant's after-hours transfer

If your number goes to an auto attendant, edit its business hours and set the after-hours option to transfer the caller to your RingReady number.
5

Test it

Call your business number from another phone and let it ring

Let it ring past 30 seconds. Your RingReady receptionist should pick up.
