How to forward calls on Microsoft Teams Phone to your AI receptionist

Keep your Microsoft Teams Phone number. Your phone rings first — RingReady answers only the calls you miss. Set it up in a few minutes from your Microsoft Teams Phone settings.

Microsoft Teams Phone setup

After you sign up you get your own RingReady number; your dashboard shows these same steps with it filled in, as tap-to-dial buttons.

1

Open Teams call settings

Use the Teams desktop app

Select Settings and more (...) next to your profile picture, then Settings > Calls.
2

Find Call handling and forwarding

Leave your Teams ringing first

Under Call handling and forwarding, keep calls ringing you, and find the setting When you can't answer a call.
3

Forward unanswered calls to your receptionist

Redirect to a new contact or number

Choose Redirect to a new contact or number, enter your full RingReady receptionist number, and pick how long Teams rings before redirecting (about 20 seconds). Changes save automatically.
4

Test it

Call your business number from another phone and let it ring

Don't answer. Your RingReady receptionist should pick up. If the number option is missing, ask your IT admin to allow forwarding to external phone numbers.
