How to forward calls on Talkroute to your AI receptionist

Keep your Talkroute number. Your phone rings first — RingReady answers only the calls you miss. Set it up in a few minutes from your Talkroute settings.

Talkroute setup

After you sign up you get your own RingReady number; your dashboard shows these same steps with it filled in, as tap-to-dial buttons.

1

Add your receptionist as a forwarding number

Settings > Forwarding Phone Numbers

Sign in to the Talkroute control panel and go to Settings > Forwarding Phone Numbers. Under "Add a Forwarding Phone Number", enter your full RingReady receptionist number and a description (for example "RingReady"), then click Add.
2

Turn off Call Announce for that number

Stops the press-1 prompt that blocks the AI

Click Edit next to the number you just added, uncheck "Enable Call Announce & Talkroute Voicemail", then click Save & Close.
3

Forward unanswered calls to your receptionist

Manager > Edit your number > Ring in Sequence

In the Manager area, click Edit on your Virtual Phone Number and set "Choose where to route incoming calls" to Go to Users & Numbers. Under Forwarding Settings choose Ring in Sequence, add the RingReady number with the green + icon, and drag it to the last position so your own phones ring first. Under Advanced Settings, set "What should we display on your Incoming Caller ID?" to Caller's Phone Number, then click Save & Close.
4

Test it

Call your business number from another phone and let it ring

Call from a phone that is not on your forwarding list. After your phones ring out, your RingReady receptionist should answer.
